Meet The Team
Educators & Innovators

Theresa Montenarello
Program Director & Teacher
Theresa began her journey as an international educator in Peace Corps Thailand, where her interest in cultivating world citizens peaked. She continued her teaching career at the International School of Aruba where she has taught both secondary mathematics and third grade incorporating hands-on, collaborative experiences. Theresa partners with her husband to cultivate a maker culture on the island through their initiative called Makerpedia. Their goal is to instill a maker mindset in Aruba's youth, empower young girls, and create meaningful learning experiences in the education system.
Katlyn Darling
Curriculum Designer & Teacher
Katlyn started her career in education working for the Ministry of Natural Resources in Ontario, where she saw firsthand the powerful impact citizen science and youth service projects can have on the community level. Her teaching career began formally in the United Kingdom at the Tong Leadership Academy where she taught GCSE English. Following her passion for experiential learning, Katlyn returned to the Ontario curriculum and began a five-year journey at the Canadian International School of Egypt where she held numerous leadership positions, including literacy lead, athletic director and student success coordinator. Although seemingly very different from each other, each of these roles sought to understand the needs of English Language Learners and worked to support this unique dynamic in the classroom.
